Turkish Lira seems to have dropped off a cliff since the beginning of the third quarter of 2013. The general slide in emerging market currencies that started around May 2013 with the US Federal Reserve aiming to channel cash-flows toward the US instead of emerging markets, affected Turkey too. The first wave of slides that affected BRICS economies (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) only briefly touched upon Turkey
